Mimuan Nikko

Liming New Village in the Nantun District of Taichung City used to serve as an official community for provincial government employees’ residences and offices, continuing the new town planning concepts of the 1970s. Over time, it has gradually developed public facilities and low-density development, combining low-rise buildings with large parks and green spaces. After forty years of rapid urban expansion in Taichung and being surrounded by rapidly emerging redevelopment zones, the Liming New Village is regarded as the last untouched area amidst fast commercial development. However, the threat of development within the community has never vanished. Office m-sa and the Mimuan Nikko team are attempting to find a balance between the future commercial development of the community and its environment. Mimuan Nikko’s building is an end unit of a two-story row house, adjacent to the community park. The building features reinforced brick construction, a wooden roof, and a prominent smooth pebble façade. Following the ‘As found’ condition, Office m-sa and the Mimuan Nikko team have shifted the entrance façade from the street side to the park side, incorporating large openings to connect the indoor restaurant with the park greenery, while preserving as much of the building’s historical traces as possible.
台中市南屯區黎民新村，過去作為省府員工住宅及辦公區官方社區，並延續1970年代的新市鎮規劃理念，陸 續規劃完善公共設施，並以低密度的開發，結合低樓層建築群與大片的公園綠地。經歷了四十年的台中都市 高速擴張，並伴隨著快速崛起的周圍重劃區包圍，黎民社區雖然被視為是快速商業發展中的最後一塊淨土， 但社區內的開發威脅卻從未消失。Office m-sa與美滿日光團隊試圖尋求社區未來的商業發展與社區環境之 間的平衡。美滿日光建築為雙層排樓之邊間住宅，並緊鄰著社區公園綠地;建築本體為加強磚造、木構造屋頂 與大面的抿石子立面外觀。承襲著As found的現況，Office m-sa與美滿日光團隊將入口立面由道路側轉向 為公園側，並以大面開口將室內餐廳與公園綠地結合，並盡可能地保留建築本體過去的歷史痕跡。

台中市南屯区の黎民新村は、かつて省政府職員の住宅およびオフィス区域として公式なコミュニティとして機 能しており、1970年代の新市街の計画理念を引き継いでいます。時間が経つにつれて公共施設が徐々に整備 され、低密度の開発が進められ、低層の建物と広大な公園緑地が組み合わされています。台中の急速な都市拡 張を40年間経験し、急速に出現する再開発区域に囲まれながら、黎民コミュニティは急速な商業発展の中で 最後の未開の地と見なされています。しかし、コミュニティ内での開発の脅威は決して消え去ったわけではあり ません。Office m-sa と美満日光チームは、コミュニティの将来の商業発展と環境とのバランスを探ろうとして います。美満日光の建物は二階建ての連棟住宅の端部に位置し、コミュニティ公園の緑地に隣接しています。建 物自体は強化レンガ造りで、屋根は木で作られ、大きな平滑な石の外壁を持っています「。As found」のコンセ プトを引き継ぎ、Office m-sa と美満日光チームは、入口の外観を道路側から公園側に移動し、大きな開口部 を設けて室内のレストランと公園の緑地をつなげつつ、建物の過去の歴史的痕跡をできるだけ保持するよう努 力しています。
